Kitchen Assistant – Cakes & Pastry
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our business, on a part time basis.
We adore our beautiful old barn and we take pride and care in everything we do here. As part of our small team, you would be at the very heart of things, helping us develop and maintain our reputation.
Working sociable hours, the successful candidate will be primarily focussed on pastry & cakes. We make everything here at the barn, so a background in a similar environment would be ideal, but we welcome applications from talented and keen home bakers.
We love the cafe life and giving our visitors a great experience. We approach all of our food with the same high level of care and attention to detail, whether it is our lunch or brunch menu, our cakes, or our more humble (yet delightful) offerings, such as scones and sausage rolls. We are looking for someone who shares these values.
The Role:
Responsible for producing our range of servery cakes to the highest standards.
Responsible for sweet section during lunch service, assisting other team members as required.
Responsible for maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in own section, assisting in all other areas including pot-washing and end of day clean down.
Comply with COSHH, Health and Safety procedures and Food Hygiene procedures, helping to ensure that we keep our 5 Star Food Rating
Assist in the smooth running of the kitchen in a timely and efficient way
The person:
Experience will most certainly be an advantage, but applications from talented home bakers are welcome.
A love of food and the whole cafe experience is important, along with a positive can-do attitude.

Part Time, 25 hrs pw.
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday
£12.75 per hour.
