Barista – Flexible (Zero Hours) basis:
Date: Monday 5th October 2026
We are looking for a skilled Barista – Cafe Assistant to join us on a flexible basis.
As an experienced Barista, you will have a love for the cafe vibe and you will bring your knowledge, passion for great coffee and excellent customer service to help us to deliver the best possible experience for our guests, every time.
In addition to serving great coffee, we are known for exceptional lunch, cakes, scones and savouries, and an extensive selection of fine loose leaf teas.
The Role:
Preparation and serving of hot and cold drinks
Ensure coffee equipment, servery, displays, seating areas comply with health and hygiene requirements
Adherence to health and safety procedures including food preparation and hygiene
Practice excellent food hygiene standards including storage, handling and cleaning
Train employees on proper use of coffee equipment and drinks preparation
Coordinate with suppliers as needed – coffee, cups, lids, loose leaf tea, hot chocolate and other ingredients
Develop, source and implement new beverages and seasonal offerings
Assisting in all areas of the business as required, (waiting tables, cleaning – including regular deep cleans, stock replenishment, cash handling and card transactions)
Assist visitors to the cafe as required, providing excellent customer service at all times
The Person:
Proficient and consistent latte art skills
Minimum 1 year experience working as a barista – Essential
Availability for shifts during opening times, for example weekends and holidays
Extensive coffee knowledge and passionate towards creating exceptional coffee
Excellent communication skills
A warm and genuine customer service attitude

Kitchen Assistant – Pastry & Cakes

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our business, on a part time basis.
We take pride and care in everything we do. As part of our small team, you would be at the very heart of things, helping us develop and maintain our reputation.
Working sociable hours, the successful candidate will be primarily focussed on pastry & cakes. We make everything here at the barn, so a background in a similar environment would be ideal, but we welcome applications from talented and keen home bakers.
We the love the cafe life and giving our visitors a great experience. We approach all of our food with the same high level of care and attention to detail, whether it is our lunch & brunch menu, or our cakes, scones and sausage rolls. We are looking for someone who shares these values.
The Role:
Working closely with the chef and the owners, you will share responsibility for producing both our sweets and range of servery cakes and to the highest standards.
Responsible for sweet section during lunch service and also assisting other team members as required.
Responsible for maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in your own section, plus also assisting in all other areas including pot-washing and end of day clean down.
Comply with Health and Safety procedures and Food Hygiene procedures, helping to ensure that we keep our 5 Star Food Rating
Assist in the smooth running of the kitchen in a timely and efficient way
The person:
Experience of working in a similar role will most certainly be an advantage, but applications from talented home bakers who feel they are ready to take the step into a busy kitchen environment will be considered.
A love of food and the whole cafe experience is important, along with a positive can-do attitude.
Attention to detail and able to work quickly, efficiently and neatly.
