FAQs

Do I need to make an appointment to visit The Painted Barn?
Yes, please. You can contact The Painted Barn on 01603 757827 or 0773 8978529 to make sure we’re open at a time that suits you.

Why is it called The Painted Barn?
It’s owner, Julie grew up on a farm and one of its barns has been restored and now provides a rustic showroom for The Painted Barn’s collection of vintage shabby chic furniture and beautiful accessories for the home.

Is the furniture of a good quality?
Old furniture may have become neglected and unloved over the years but beneath the cobwebs and dust, there lies a solid well-made piece of furniture. The Painted Barn only buys vintage pieces that are strong, in good condition and can withstand modern life.

Can I buy online?
Yes but please get in touch with us first if you are needing delivery.

What if you don’t have what I’m looking for?
Julie and the team at The Painted Barn trawl auction rooms and markets to find that perfect piece of furniture, so they can source what you’re looking for without you needing to move a muscle.

Do you offer a furniture restoration service for my items?
Yes, in many instances. The Painted Barn is happy to take in pieces of furniture from customers, undertake the necessary restoration work and paint it by hand in a colour of your choice. Telephone or email us to find out more.

Is there anything else I need to know?
The Painted Barn prides itself on stocking beautiful old pieces of furniture. However, despite our best efforts to refurbish them to an exceptionally high standard and bring them back to life, these lovely old treasures are not perfect and may still carry some signs of their previous lives. The painting and finishing techniques we use are also designed to give them a worn, shabby chic appearance. At The Painted Barn, we believe this is what makes our reclaimed furniture so special.
